Balloon decoration is priced on material and hours, and both are driven by the size of the space. That is why “a birthday setup” can be quoted at three very different figures by three honest decorators — they are picturing three different rooms.
The four things that actually move it
- The size of the space. Filling a bedroom wall and filling a community hall are not comparable jobs. This dominates everything else.
- How much you want covered. A backdrop alone is one build. A backdrop plus an arch plus ceiling work plus a themed corner is four, on one booking.
- How long it has to last. A setup that only needs to survive an evening is built differently from one that must hold for three days.
- Access and timing. A fourth-floor walk-up, or a hall with a two-hour load-in window, costs hours rather than material.
Why you should send photographs, not measurements
A photograph shows the ceiling height, the light, the wall finish and the furniture that cannot be moved. A measurement shows none of that. Two or three photographs on WhatsApp will get you a more accurate quote than a paragraph of description, and it takes thirty seconds.
What a starting price does and does not mean
Ours starts at ₹1,999. A starting price is a floor — the smallest complete setup we would send a crew out to build — and it is not a quote. Any decorator whose starting price is also their final price for every job is either overcharging small jobs or losing money on large ones.
The line items to ask about
Setup fee, labour charge and clearing charge are the three that turn a quoted figure into a larger bill on the day. Ask whether they are included before you book. Ours are. Ask about transport too, if you are outside the decorator’s usual area.
Getting a real number
Send the date, the address, the occasion and two photographs. You should get back one figure, not a range. A range is a decorator keeping their options open at your expense.
